Description
The National SC/ST Hub (herein after referred to as the Hub) is set up to provide professional support to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Entrepreneurs to fulfill the obligations under the Central Government Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises Order 2012, adopt applicable business practices and leverage the Stand Up India initiatives The objective of the announcement clearly is to promote "enterprise culture" amongst the SC / ST population. This would also enable Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) us to fulfill the target, which the Government has kept for procurement by them. It has been laid down in the Public Procurement Policy 2012 that 20% of 20% i.e. 4% of procurement shall be done by Ministries, Departments and CPSEs from the enterprises owned by SC / ST. In addition, the Hub would also enable the Government to develop entrepreneurship among SC/ST population, which at present, is at very low level.
Objective
The scheme is aimed at providing professional support to entrepreneurs belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The scheme would enable these entrepreneurs to fulfill their obligations under the Central Government Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises Order 2012. Further, the scheme would enable them to adopt applicable business practices and leverage the Stand-Up India initiatives

- The National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) has been set up to provide professional support to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Entrepreneurs to fulfil the obligations under the Central Government Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises Order 2012, adopt applicable business practices and leverage the Stand-Up India initiative. The key action areas of NSSH include vendor development, participation in public procurement, building reliable database, mentoring and handholding support, policy advocacy with states, credit facilitation, capacity building, private affirmative action, technology upgradation, marketing support, and special subsidies under various schemes.
