International Cooperation Scheme

  • As per the existing guidelines, the eligible organizations are facilitated for visit /participation of MSMEs in international exhibitions /trade fairs/buyer-seller meet etc. abroad and also holding International conferences/seminars/ workshops in India, for technology infusion, exploring business opportunities, joint ventures etc.

  • Under the Scheme, during the current FY 2018-19, Rs.3.59 crore has been released upto 28.12.2018 for facilitating 454 MSMEs.

  • During 2017-18, financial assistance of Rs.4.08 crore was released for facilitating 723 MSMEs.

  • Description

    The Scheme covers the following activities:

    ·       i. Visit of MSME business delegations to other countries to international exhibitions/ trade fairs etc. for exploring new areas of technology infusion/ up-gradation, facilitating of joint ventures, improving market for MSMEs products, foreign collaborations amongst others.

    ·       ii. Visit and participation by Indian MSMEs in international exhibitions, trade fairs and buyer-seller meets in foreign countries.

    ·       iii. Participation of Indian MSMEs in International exhibitions/ trade fairs held in India in which there is international participation.

    ·       iv. Holding international Conferences and Seminars on topics and themes of interest to the Indian MSMEs.

    ·       v. Holding / organizing International Conferences/ Seminars/ Workshops in India by Ministry of MSME or its organizations.

     

    Objectives

    • The scheme aims at capacity building MSMEs for entering export market by facilitating their participation in international exhibitions/fairs/conferences/seminar/ buyer-seller meets abroad
    • Provides actionable market-intelligence and reimbursement of various costs involved in export of goods and services
    • It provides opportunities to MSMEs to continuously update themselves to meet the challenges emerging out of changes in technology, changes in demand, emergence of new markets, etc.

     

    Key Benefits

    • The Scheme would cover the following sub-components:

      • Sub-Component I: Market Development Assistance of MSMEs (MDA).
      • Sub-Component II: Capacity Building of First Time MSE Exporters (CBFTE).
      • Sub-Component III: Framework for International Market Intelligence Dissemination (IMID).
    • The scheme aims to capacity build MSMEs for entering export market by facilitating their
      participation in international exhibitions/fairs/conferences/seminar/buyer-seller meets abroad as well as providing them with actionable market-intelligence and reimbursement of various costs involved in export of goods and services.
    • The Scheme provides opportunities to MSMEs to continuously update themselves to meet the challenges emerging out of changes in technology, changes in demand, emergence of new markets, etc. Thus, in totality, all components of the scheme aim at various aspects required to advance MSMEs position as emerging export player.

     

    Scheme Applicable for

    • Under Sub Component I - Ministry of MSME and organizations under the Ministry, State/Central Government Organisations/Institutions; and Registered Industry/Enterprise Associations etc.

     

    Detailed information

    • Participation of MSME delegations in international exhibitions, trade fairs and buyer- seller meets in foreign countries (PHYSICAL MODE).
    • Participation of MSME delegations in international exhibitions, trade fairs and buyer-seller meet by Foreign Organisers (VIRTUAL MODE).
    • Organizing International conferences/summits/ workshops/seminars on the themes relevant to MSME sector (PHYSICAL MODE) to be organized in India by the Industry Associations/ Government Organizations.
    • Organising International conferences/ summits/ workshops/ seminars on the themes relevant to MSME sector (VIRTUAL MODE) to be organized by Industry Associations/ Government Organizations.
    • Organising Mega international conferences/summits/ workshops/seminars, bilateral/multilateral Government to Government Events in India (PHYSICAL/Virtual MODE) by Ministry of MSME, its organizations solely or in partnership with industry associations for promotion of MSME sector.

    • All components of the scheme aimed at various aspects required to advance MSMEs position as emerging export players.

    Sub-components of International Cooperation Scheme

    As mentioned above, the revised IC Scheme will now have three sub-components such as:

    • Market Development Assistance (MDA) – (both Physical and Virtual Mode)
    • Capacity Building of First Time Exporters (CBFTE)
    • Framework for International Market Intelligence Dissemination (IMID)
