Objective
To provide
a better working environment
- To provide better ambience by providing a
better work place to artisans to enable them to carry out their spinning
and weaving work efficiently.
- To provide more storing and working space for
housing slivers, raw material, implements etc.
- To help in improving the efficiency and
thereby the production, productivity of spinners, weavers and also to
increase their earnings.
- Khadi/polyvastra producing Institutions and
Khadi Artisans
Financial
assistance is provided to those Khadi artisans who belong to BPL category. In
the states where BPL card is being issued, they should be covered under the
scheme. Where BPL cards are not being issued at present, identification of poor
artisans may be made in a transparent and open process. The benefits of the
scheme would be made available to only those artisans who work for at least 100
days in a year.
Eligibility
i.
The artisans
working with KIs affiliated to KVICjState KVIBs, including their departmental
activities shall be eligible for the scheme. The artisans covered under
AWFT,MMDAincentive, worked at least 100 days in a yearpreference shall be given
to BPLcategory.
ii.
The title of the
land should be in the name of the artisan and or his jher spouse.
iii.
The Group Work
shed may be constructed on the land owned by the KIs and it must be leased out
to the artisans for a period of minimum 10 years.
iv.
Artisan availed
similar benefit previously from KVICjCentraljState Govt. will not be eligible.
However, if such work shed are damagedj destroyed due to natural calamities but
did not receive any compensation, shall be considered for the scheme after
obtaining desired Certificate from the concern LocalAuthority.
v.
The construction
cost if increased, the beneficiary need to bear the additional cost by
withdrawing from the available AWF credit. In case of BPL category additional
requirement of fund, the sponsoring KI shall arrange without insisting from the
artisan.
